LONE STAR STATE AUTHORS RELEASE AWARD WINNING LITERATURE

Houston, Texas October 7, 2009— Houston native Cheryl Donovan, along with fellow Texans Lorraine Elzia and Brian Ganges are newcomers to the literary world. But their presence at last week’s African American Literary Awards held in Harlem, New York proved to be more than a novice affair.

Already, the Texas tandem is making waves in the literary community and capped off a successful third quarter by winning a combined five awards at the African American Literary Award Show. Their publisher, Elissa Gabrielle, CEO of Peace in the Storm (P.I.T.S.) Publishing, was named Independent Publisher of the Year; Brian Ganges was one of the authors of the inspirational P.I.T.S. compilation entitled “The Soul of a Man,” which was named Anthology of the Year; and three other P.I.T.S. authors from across the country won in the category of Breakout Author (Lorraine Elzia); Non-Fiction (Cheryl Donovan); and Romance (Jackie Moore); other P.I.T.S. authors S.D. Denny and Ebonee Monique were also nominated for awards.

The victories are a result of hard work and tireless dedication to the trade, but these victories didn’t come without a rigorous regiment of discipline and marketing. Donovan, Elzia, Ganges and the rest of the P.I.T.S. authors have been busy reaching out, touring and visiting their growing fan base at book signings across the country.

“Whenever your body of work is recognized by peers such as Famed Authors Eric Jerome Dickey and Zane, it is truly a blessing,” says Donovan, who accepted the award for Best Non-Fiction. “I am honored to be an integral part of such an elite group of authors,” Donovan continued.

These new award-winning authors are all scheduled to release new books in 2010: Lorraine Elzia is scheduled to release “Ask Nicely and I Might”; Cheryl Donovan is scheduled to release “Do You Still Do?” and Brian Ganges’ debut solo project, “Piecing the Puzzle Together” is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2010. Adoring fans are expecting these and other P.I.T.S. authors to release 2010 works that will exceed the award winning accomplishments of 2009. Books can be purchased at bookstores everywhere or directly from P.I.T.S. through /www.peaceinthestormpublishing.com.
